SOUND HEALING

A sound bath is an experience that helps individuals relax and meditate. Attendees are surrounded by sound waves generated by traditional and contemporary healing instruments, such as drums, rattles, gongs, Tibetan and crystal bowls, chimes, and stringed instruments. The instruments are played using specific healing techniques that calm the mind and body to the edge of sleep, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which stimulates self-healing on a cellular, emotional, and spiritual level. Typically, attendees lie on the floor or recline in a chair to maximize physical comfort during the experience.

Sound healing has a particularly calming effect on the nervous system by providing bio-feedback in the form of harmonic sound waves. The nervous system entrains to the sonic harmony by regulating the "fight or flight" side with the "rest and digest" side, which, in turn, helps to regulate all other systems of the body, such as circulatory, glandular, lymphatic, and mental. Much like Reiki, Sound Healing is so gentle and subtle that receivers can sometimes achieve a mental "super state" where the subconscious mind begins to creatively dream while the conscious mind acts as a witness. This state is often associated with "out-of-body experiences" as the dream state seems so real, even with the conscious mind still awake and aware. In these dream states, past issues and traumas can be released and relieved.

Meet Corey Happel,

Healing & Holistic Lifestyle Practitioner

Corey turned to yoga as a form of physical maintenance after years of competitive sports and a profession that demanded constant travel. Six years later, after adopting a daily practice and enjoying the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that yoga has to offer, he quit his corporate sales career and became a yoga teacher. Since graduating from Yoga Teacher Training in March of 2019 Corey opened his yoga business, Yoga Bro, and has been providing low-cost private yoga to people who can’t or don’t want to practice in a group format or at a studio/gym.

With the desire for personal growth and the ability to make helping others a viable full-time career, Corey has made heavy investments in related healing/holistic lifestyle modalities such as Reiki, Kundalini Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing, Bhakti and Mantra, Access Bars and Thai Yoga. Corey can be found leading public group sound bath and yoga workshops at various yoga studios all over Bucks County and the surrounding areas.

At home in Doylestown, PA Corey is a husband and father to 3 teens. He loves walking and playing with his Yorkie-Poo, enjoying nature, listening to mantra music, combining travel with yoga trainings and cooking for the family. Corey’s favorite charitable organization is Hayden’s House, a non-profit organization that provides counseling and retreat services to families who have lost children. Corey loves the opportunity to donate his yoga and sound healing services to this very special group of people.
